WHITSTABLE PEARL SERIES

The British seaside holiday will never be the same again. When a second body shows up, Pearl finds herself pulled into the seedy underbelly of this picturesque town. Various scenes were also shot in Margate, the Port of Ramsgate, Dover, and Hernhill. The majority of the filming took place in Whitstable, including at the harbour, the yacht club, and the beach.

Pearl and Mike clash at first, but then Mike becomes the only other person to share Pearl’s belief that Vinnie was murdered. While the mysteries these sleuths solve sometimes take a back seat to the development of the main character and his/her friends, family, and police enablers, the mysteries still need to be solid. Whitstable Pearl was filmed in Kent from October 2020 to January 2021. Locals soon flock to her with all kinds of cases, but when a friend dies suspiciously, Pearl finds herself in conflict with gruff new cop DCI Mike McGuire. Big-hearted restaurant owner Pearl Nolan (Kerry Godliman) pursues her lifelong dream. Standing in the way of her detective work is DCI Mike McGuire (Howard Charles, The Musketeers), the new Kent police chief who has transferred from London in an attempt to escape from his past. Godliman plays the titular Pearl Nolan in the six-part British detective drama, based on the much-loved novels The Whitstable Pearl Mystery and Disappearance at Oare by Julie Wassmer ( EastEnders).
